On Wednesday 21st we celebrated the Feast Day of St. Eugene de Mazenod with a Mass led by the Friends of St. Eugene and a lovely celebration in the church garden afterwards.
Fr. Frank Murray and Fr. Vimal both presided over Mass together in a wonderful celebration of the life of St. Eugene de Mazenod. St. Eugene was the founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1826 an order who seek to evangelise the poor and abandoned, promote justice and human dignity, and serve communities through pastoral care, education, and social outreach. Our church, St. Joseph’s was founded by the Oblates, who continue to serve it today.
Thank you to all who participated and attended this joyous event and to the Friends of St. Eugene who led the Mass and prepared for the celebration afterwards.
